FormalPara Synthese – Verteilung – Abbau – EliminationNach oraler Applikation rasche Resorption mit einer Bioverfügbarkeit von 50 %. Diphenhydramin wird in der Leber abgebaut, sodass nur 4 % der Dosis unverändert renal eliminiert werden.

FormalPara Funktion – PathophysiologieBei Vergiftungen finden sich atropinähnliche (z. B. Mydriasis) und anticholinerge Wirkungen (Erregung, Delir, Krämpfe, Hyperthermie, Lähmung des Atemzentrums, Kreislaufkollaps).
