Zusammenfassung
Dermatophyten sind Fadenpilze und stammen teleomorph aus dem Reich Eumycota, der Abteilung Ascomycota, der Unterabteilung Euascomycota, der Ordnung Onygenales, der Familie Arthrodermataceae und der Gattung Arthroderma. Durch ihre Keratinophilie kolonisieren und infizieren sie Haut und ihre Anhangsgebilde wie Nägel und Haare. Als Dermatophytose werden alle Infektionen durch Epidermophyton, Microsporum und Trichophyton bezeichnet. Sie bilden eine klinische Entität.
