Econometric Modelling on Micro-Computers: The Impact of the New Technological Features

Abstract

With a French econometric model used for operational forecasting, we test if medium-large models can be maintained on micro-computers. We first prove technical feasibility, then discuss the advantages of the this strategy, as compared to mainframe modelling.
