Soit k un corps, et soit K une extension galoisienne de k. Le groupe de Galois G(K/k) de l’extension K/k est un groupe profini (cf. Chap. I, n° 1.1), et on peut lui appliquer les méthodes et les résultats du Chapitre I; en particulier, si G(K/k) opère sur un groupe discret A(K), les Hq(G(K/k), A(K)) sont bien définis (si A(K) n’est pas commutatif, on se limite à q = 0, 1).
