Abstract

Deregulation of the US telecommunications market has triggered an increasing influx of small, feature-packed telecommunications equipment to the printed circuit board market. Rapid evolution of office and engineering computerized systems is driven by enhanced computing power, packaged in small units. In addition, military and aerospace equipment, as well as consumer electronics, compete in a market demanding ‘bells and whistles’ provided in the minimum possible space.
