Timing of Elective Hypospadias Repair

  • Chapter
Hypospadias Surgery

Abstract

Several factors influence, directly or indirectly, the timing of elective repair of hypospadias in childhood. The most important of them are the age-related anaesthetic and surgical risks and benefits, in relation to the psychological impact of the procedure, during the various stages of the child’s development (Kelalis et al. 1975).
