Abstract

The very large number of procedures described for repairing hypospadias and the very meagre data available on long-term follow-up of these operations are striking evidence of the difficulty of this surgery. The surgeon’s criteria of success may differ quite significantly from the patient’s criteria of satisfaction, as shown in Mureau’s studies (Mureau et al. 1996).
