Abstract

Every effort should be made to prevent wound infection. Separation of the foreskin adherent to the glans and removal of desquamated epithelial debris should be performed under anaesthesia prior to skin preparation. When the patient is postpubertal, skin preparation should be undertaken several days before surgery with thrice-daily cleansing.
