Abstract
Pityriasis lichenoides is a benign, uncommon, acquired chronic immunoreactive or lymphoproliferative dermatosis. An acute form, commoner in the young—pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta (PLEVA, or Mucha-Habermann disease)—and a chronic form Quliusberg) can be distinguished. Pityriasis lichenoides chronica (PLC) has no apparent geographical or racial predilection. This dermatosis occurs mainly in adolescents and young adults and is rare in old age and infancy. It shows a prevalence in men (approximately 70%).
