Abstract
At any electrode immersed in an electrolyte solution, a specific interfacial region is formed. This region is called the double layer. The electrical properties of such a layer are important, since they significantly affect the electrochemical measurements. In an electrical circuit used to measure the current that flows at a particular working electrode, the double layer can be viewed as a capacitor.
