Abstract

Physicians at primarily non radiological departments are nowadays strongly interested to have access and to work with the original digital images. Existing PACS provide these facilities only in a restrictive way. With the ACR-NEMA standard which is already accepted and used by different manufacturers of medical imaging equipment it is possible to exchange medical images in a standardized form. Modern workstations with RISC architecture provide a powerful platform for imaging applications. This poster describes the concept and the realization of a medical workstation.
