Zusammenfassung
Der atmosphärische Blick ist ein oft vernachlässigter Treiber des touristischen Erlebnisses und damit essentiell für eine nachhaltig erfolgreiche Destinationsentwicklung. Dieser Beitrag gibt zunächst eine Übersicht über die Denktraditionen der historisch gewachsenen Atmosphärenforschung. Auf dieser Grundlage unterstreicht der Artikel die Vorteile der Atmosphärenperspektive für die touristische Destinationsentwicklung und stellt einige Grundsätze einer atmosphärisch ausgerichteten touristischen Produktentwicklung vor. Eine atmosphärische Wende in der Tourismusentwicklung erfordert eine ganzheitliche Perspektive und eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Tradierten und Authentischen, und fördert damit das Wahren einer Balance zwischen Reise- und Lebens-Räumen.
