Zusammenfassung
Der linguistic turn bezeichnet die Vorstellung, dass Welt nicht objektiv vor-gegeben ist, sondern so, wie sie uns erscheint, als sprachlich konstruiert verstanden wird. Dieses Denken entwickelte sich in internationaler Rekonstruktion ab dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert in mehreren Schritten in der Schweiz, in Amerika und in England und dabei vor allem in der Linguistik, Sprachwissenschaft und Sprachphilosophie. Ab den 1960er Jahren verbreitete sich der linguistic turn zusehends international und interdisziplinär, weniger jedoch im deutschsprachigen Raum, wobei Wien heute, was die deutschsprachige Erziehungswissenschaft betrifft, ein Zentrum der Beschäftigung mit dem linguistic turn ist.
