Zusammenfassung
Der internationale Vergleich zeigt, dass eine verminderte Gesundheitskompetenz nachteilige Auswirkungen auf die Gesundheit haben kann. Eine niedrige oder eingeschränkte Gesundheitskompetenz ist demnach auch mit einer höheren Inanspruchnahme und höheren Kosten der Gesundheitsversorgung verbunden.
Im Rahmen des Projektes SynthHLCA, einem Teilprojekt des HLCA-Forschungsverbunds zwischen 2015 und 2018, wurde u. a. erforscht, welche Erkenntnisse zu gesundheitsökonomischen Aspekten der Gesundheitskompetenz von jungen Menschen vorliegen. Hierzu wurde eine systematische Literaturrecherche in den Datenbanken Cochrane, Medline sowie Embase durchgeführt. Im Ergebnis wurden drei Studien zur gesundheitsökonomischen Betrachtung von Health Literacy-Interventionen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen eingeschlossen. Die bisherige Evidenz zeigt jedoch erheblichen Bedarf, zuverlässige Daten zu gesundheitsökonomischen Aspekten von Health Literacy, insbesondere im Kindes- und Jugendalter, zu ermitteln. Eine gesundheitsökonomische Betrachtung ist daher von Beginn an bei Studien zur Evaluation von Health Literacy Interventionen von großer Bedeutung.
