Zusammenfassung
Religionen sind heute transnationaler denn je: vernetzt über neue Kommunikationstechnologien und verbesserte Mobilität, verbunden durch Solidarität und den Austausch von Informationen, Ressourcen und Personen, engagiert in den aktuellen Themenfeldern globaler Politik wie Frieden, Klimawandel oder Menschenrechte. Während religiöse Gemeinschaften und Organisationen innerhalb von Staaten seit langem Gegenstand der Forschung sind – insbesondere mit Blick auf ihr ambivalentes Verhältnis zu Konflikt und Gewalt – wissen wir über transnationale religiöse Akteure noch vergleichsweise wenig. Der Beitrag untersucht am Beispiel zweier christlicher Organisationen und ihrer Positionierung zur palästinensischen Boykott-Kampagne gegen Israel, wie und warum sich diese grundlegende Ambivalenz religiösen Handelns auch im transnationalen Bereich zeigt.
