Zusammenfassung

Dieser Beitrag erläutert die Grundlagen der Währungs- und Wechselkurspolitik. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf den prinzipiellen Aspekten der Entscheidungsfindung und den zur Verfügung stehenden Instrumenten. Betont werden die Wahl des Wechselkursregimes und des preislichen Niveaus des Wechselkurses als Kernbestandteile dieses Politikfeldes. Weitere Themen sind die Rolle im Prozess der makroökonomischen Anpassung, die Wechselwirkungen mit anderen Politikbereichen und die Struktur des internationalen Währungssystems.
