Zusammenfassung
Ausgehend von der gegenwärtigen Hinwendung zum Archiv des Dritten Kinos rekonstruiert der Aufsatz die Herausbildung postkolonialer Filmtheorie von ihren Anfängen in antikolonialer Theorie und Filmpraxis bis zu aktuellen Auseinandersetzungen über die Potenziale der Digitalisierung. Er verfolgt diese in drei thematischen Strängen: Fragen der Sichtbarkeit und der Repräsentation, koloniales Erbe des Kinos und Film als Ethnografie, sowie Auseinandersetzungen mit Erinnerung, Geschichtlichkeit und Zeitlichkeit.
