Zusammenfassung
In diesem Beitrag wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob und wie die Diversität unterschiedlich großer Organisationen untersucht werden kann. Dazu werden zunächst zwei zentrale theoretische Ansätze skizziert, die sich mit der Organisationsgröße beschäftigen bzw. zentrale empirische Ergebnisse zu den Merkmalen und zur Performanz von Organisationen unterschiedlicher Größe beigetragen haben. Im zweiten Schritt wird der bisher wenig umfangreiche Forschungsstand zum Zusammenhang zwischen der Größe von Organisationen und ihrer Diversität referiert. Um der Frage auf den Grund zu gehen, wie sich Diversität auf die Performanz von Organisationen unterschiedlicher Größe auswirkt, muss auf die organisationalen Prozesse eingegangen werden, die diesem Zusammenhang zugrunde liegen. Kurz werden daher Forschungsergebnisse zusammengefasst, die organisationale Prozesse in Organisationen unterschiedlicher Größe thematisieren, bevor ausführlicher auf die Forschungslage zum Einfluss der demografischen Zusammensetzung von Organisationen auf die organisationalen Prozesse eingegangen wird.
