Abstract
According to an official census, in 2013 Spain had a population of 47.1 million inhabitants. Most of them (41,539,400) are Spanish citizens, but a small number (5,520,133) are foreigners (11.7%: 5% of which are EU citizens (2,352,978.). Romania is the country from which most immigrants come (796,576). The second on the list is Morocco (710,041). Among the countries with Muslim backgrounds, the second (but 19th on the general list) is Pakistan (80,714). Other Muslim countries from which immigrants come are Senegal (63,760) and Algeria (63,969).
