Zusammenfassung

Die wichtigsten Veröffentlichungsplätze der Demokratieforschung sind die Journale Democratization und Journal of Democracy. Ihre Schwerpunkte werden hier durch das Auszählen ihrer Themen ermittelt. Zum Vergleich werden die Fachjournale Comparative Politics und Comparative Political Studies ausgewertet, die Beiträge zur üblichen vergleichenden Politikforschung veröffentlichen. Die Demokratiejournale publizieren hauptsächlich über Osteuropa, Lateinamerika, Asien und Afrika. Inhaltlich konzentrieren sie sich ganz im Sinne ihres Anspruchs auf die Entstehung demokratische Strukturen, auf die Beschaffenheit der Autokratie und auf den Regimewandel hin zur Demokratie. Die beiden Vergleichsjournale setzen deutlich andere Länder- und Themenschwerpunkte.
