Entwicklung und Bedeutung einer Schlüsselkompetenz für gesundheitsgerechtes Leben

Zusammenfassung

Eine hohe Gesundheitskompetenz ermöglicht es Menschen, aktiv und selbstbestimmt Verantwortung für Ihre Gesundheit zu übernehmen. Was dies im Einzelnen heißt und welche Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten hierfür notwendig sind, wird im vorliegenden Beitrag aufgezeigt. Zentrale Forschungsparadigmen und Modelle zur Gesundheitskompetenz werden dargestellt und in eine integrierte Betrachtungsweise überführt. Instrumente zur empirischen Erfassung der Gesundheitskompetenz werden ebenso vorgestellt, wie grundlegende Forschungsbefunde und mögliche Interventionsansätze zur Förderung der Gesundheitskompetenz.

Der Beitrag zeigt auf, dass Gesundheitskompetenz eine Schlüsselkompetenz für gesundheitsgerechte Lebensführung ist, aus dessen Beachtung klare Implikationen für die Gestaltung gesundheitsbezogener Maßnahmen und Rahmenbedingungen in allen Lebensbereichen resultieren.
