Zusammenfassung

Die Bezeichnung: paroxysmale Tachykardie stammt aus einer Zeit, in der es noch nicht mit einfach zu handhabenden Apparaten möglich war, die Tätigkeit des Herzens zu registrieren und zu differenzieren. Wir begehen daher weder eine historische noch eine sachliche Ungenauigkeit, wenn wir den Begriff in weitestem Sinne verwenden und von paroxysmaler Tachykardie immer dann sprechen, wenn eine Erhöhung der Kammerschlagzahl plötzlich einsetzt, eine gewisse Frequenz und Dauer aufweist, sowie dem Kranken oder dem Arzt als Veränderung des sonst vorhandenen Grundrhythmus auffällt. Vielfach werden die durch anfallsweises Vorhofflattern oder -flimmern erzeugten Tachykardien, sowie das Ergebnis des Kammerflatterns nicht unter die paroxysmalen Tachykardien gezählt. Diese Einschränkung ist vom Grundvorgang her betrachtet willkürlich. Elektrophysiologisch handelt es sich, von wenigen Ausnahmen abgesehen, stets um extrasystolische Tachykardien (9, 50, 54, 59).
