Abstract
We have been studying the development of red electroluminescence (EL) powder phosphors so that we can complete a large display panel of multicolor which can be operated with ac drive. One of the difficult points is that the luminance level of red EL phosphor powder is low, about 10 times lower than that of green. None of our previous studies has been successful. Recently, however, we have succeeded in developing a red EL powder phosphor with luminance level not being bright but satisfactory enough for real panel use. Using this red EL powder phosphor, We also have developed a large display panel. Here in this paper, we report on our experimental results.
