Abstract

An advanced generation real-time three dimensional x-ray tomography unit will record projection data equivalent to 14,400 cross sections per second of operation. Computational support will be provided by an advanced-technology special purpose parallel pipeline computer which, at 1010 arithmetic operations/second, will reconstruct an entire cross section within 1–2 milliseconds.
