Abstract

In all phases of laser research, operating personnel must develop programs for protection against the laser beam. Safety measures must be planned in advance, adhered to and reviewed critically at frequent intervals. This program must be developed whether exposure to the laser is only occasional or frequent. Safety measures are also to be followed by patients receiving laser treatment and by visitors.
