Abstract
It has become clear from the work of Mindlin, Kbumhansl, Kunin, Toupin, Kröner and others that several of the recent theories of generalized continua can be considered as the continuum limits of certain formulations of the atomic lattice theory.
Now at Technische Universitát Braunschweig. A more detailed treatment of the present topic will appear in the Abhandlungen der Braunschweigischen Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft 19701.
