Abstract
Several different human plasma lipoprotein apoproteins have now been characterized. Though their physical chemical characteristics have been described it is knowledge of their metabolic fate and function that promises to help us understand human lipid transport, and its disorders. In vivo and in vitro studies of the different lipoprotein apoproteins their exchange, synthesis and catabolism will be discussed particularly in regard to what they have taught us regarding lipoprotein inter-conversions and the mechanisms behind several different lipid transport disorders.
