Abstract

The use of music in the treatment of cancer patients may seem farfetched, and the presence of a music therapist as a full-fledged member in a treatment team is a rare “luxury”, to be found in very few centers around the world. However, the experiences in those centers indicate that the potential of music therapy deserves closer scrutiny.
