Zusammenfassung
Therapie und Prognose des Prostata-Karzinoms sind von einer exakten Bestimmung der Ausdehnung des Tumors (Staging) abhängig. Die rektale digitale Palpation unterschätzt das tatsächliche Tumorstadium in bis zu 42 % der Fälle (1). Denkhaus wies bei einer Untersuchung an 124 Patienten mit histologisch gesichertern Prostata-Karzinorn in 18% ein sonographisch höheres Tumorstadium nach als bei der rektalen Palpation, bei 3% der untersuchten Tumoren lag das durch suprapubischtransvesikale Sonographie bestimmte Tumorstadium niedriger als bei der rektalen Untersuchung (2). Die Cornputertomographie führte in 10% zu einer Heraufsetzung und in 44% zu einer Herabsetzung des Tumorstadiums im Vergleich zur rektalen Palpation (3).
