Zusammenfassung

Die hohe Rezidivrate und die ungünstige Prognose des invasiven bzw. metastasierten Transitionalzell-Karzinoms der Harnblase unterstreichen die Bedeutung immunologischer Parameter zur rechtzeitigen Erfassung des malignen Potentials bereits bei niedrigen Tumorstadien. Als wertvolle Entscheidungshilfe für die Erstellung des Therapiekonzeptes zeichnete sich zunächst eine Korrelation des Blutgruppengewebsisoantigenstatus der urothelialen Tumoren mit ihrer Prognose ab, doch folgten in jüngster Zeit Berichte von Arbeitsgruppen, die einen solchen Zusammenhang nicht reproduzieren konnten (1–5). Dieser Widerspruch erklärt sich einerseits durch Einführung moderner immunhistochemischer Techniken (6–8) sowie andererseits durch die Verwendung monoklonaler Antikörper (9–10).
