Zusammenfassung
1929 beschrieb Erik Ask Upmark unter dem Titel “Juvenile maligne Nephrosklerose und ihr Verhältnis zur Störung in der Nierenentwicklung” fünf Jugendliche und ein Mädchen mit renalem Hypertonus, den er auf eine parenchymatöse Fehlbildung zurückführte (1). Diese Parenchymveranderungen bestanden viermal unilateral und zweimal bilateral. Sie wurden später mit dem Begriff Ask Upmark-Niere belegt. Ausdrücke wie segmentale Dysplasie, segmentale Hypoplasie bzw. segmentale atrophische Nephrosklerose wurden synonym verwendet.
