Abstract

In daily dermatological practice, “hair loss” is a very frequent cause of consultation. Apart from cases when hair loss etiology is evident (post partum effluvium, recent infectious diseases, drugs with known hair toxicity, radiotherapy…), it is often difficult to know, when a recent hair loss occurs if it is or not the onset of a real alopecia. Secondly, when there is a visible alopecia, it is also frequently very difficult to state precisely if the process tends to evolute or not.
