Abstract

The South American Gravity Project (SAGP) has been responsible for compiling all the available gravity data for South and Central America as well as a topographic model. A new effort is now being undertaken by EPUSP/GETECH to process the existing gravity anomalies and the 3’ digital terrain model to estimate mean values for block size of 30’ x 30’. This new data set is intended to be used in the calculation of a compatible resolution geoidal model for South America with possible other applications like a new geopotential model.
