Zusammenfassung
In einer Zeit, in der häufig neue Symptomenkomplexe und Syndrome definiert werden, wurde es nicht als Aufgabe dieses Atlas gesehen, jedes einzelne Syndrom zu beschreiben. Dies fiel um so leichter, als die seltenen Erkrankungen und Syndrome, wenn man von den spongiösen Enzephalopathien (z.B. Jacob-Creutzfeldt u. ä.) und den subakuten sklerosierenden Leukenzephalitiden und Panenzephalitiden (Radermecker-Komplexe) absieht, keine spezifischen EEG-Muster aufweisen. Darüber hinaus wandelt sich das EEG-Bild im Krankheitsverlauf bei vielen dieser Erkrankungen. Bei seltenen Krankheiten ist der EEG-Verlauf noch nicht oder nur unzureichend und nur bei wenigen statistisch umfassend und aussagekräftig beschrieben. Ein Teil der seltenen Erkrankungen wird in Publikationen mit anderem Schwerpunkt dargestellt.
