Zusammenfassung

Die Geschichte der externen Therapie mit Vitamin-A-Säure (VAS) beginnt 1962 mit einer Publikation von Stüttgen [24], der über die gute Wirksamkeit dieser Behandlungsmodalität bei verschiedenen Dermatosen mit Keratinisationsstörungen berichtete. Trotz Bestätigung dieser ermutigenden Resultate durch andere Autoren, erlangte diese Therapieform, wahrscheinlich aufgrund der starken Hautirritationen durch die angewendeten hohen VAS-Konzentrationen, keine weite Verbreitung.
