Abstract
Throughout the world the phyllosilicates represent a major group of commercially exploited minerals. They serve a wide spectrum of manufacturing and service industries that require the physical and chemical attributes derived from their individual mineralogical properties. These minerals, unlike metal ores and fuel minerals, are extracted and upgraded to enhance the value of their mineralogical performance rather than for the extraction of an elemental or chemical value.
