Abstract

A model for the interaction of high frequency acoustic waves with a plane flame is formulated. Crucial to any such analysis is the order of magnitude of T, the ratio of diffusion time to acoustic time. To model high frequency waves, we make use of the Mach number M of flame propagation and set,

$$\tau \equiv \frac{{Diffusion\;time}}{{Acoustic\;time}} = \frac{1}{M}\;$$
