Abstract

Recently, a young women was bitten in India by a stray dog; she died of rabies after returning to the Federal Republic of Germany [6]. In view of the quality of the modern rabies vaccines, there is good reason to ask whether vaccination should be recommended before travel to areas endemic for rabies.
