The Neuropsychology of Schizophrenia in the Context of Topographical Mapping of Electrocortical Activity

  • Conference paper
Topographic Brain Mapping of EEG and Evoked Potentials

Abstract

A preliminary study with EEG topographical mapping in carefully characterised schizophrenic patients will be reported in which patients were clearly differentiated from controls. The majority of test conditions involved functional activation with neuropsychological tests validated on neurological patients. Group differences were seldom found in the resting EEG. Before describing the results other reports using new EEG imaging procedures will be outlined and some contemporary approaches to the investigation of central nervous system dysfunction in schizophrenia will be briefly reviewed.
