Zusammenfassung

Die häufig geäußerte Feststellung, ein Forschungsprojekt werfe mehr Fragen als Antworten auf, trifft auch auf das Gebiet der Selbstregulationsforschung zu. Ende der 60er Jahre, als die behavioristische Welle ihren Höhepunkt erreicht hatte, entwickelte ich ein heuristisches 3-Stufen-Modell, um selbstinitiierte Prozesse, die das Verhältnis von Input und Output steuern, zu erklären. Das Selbstregulationssystem setzt immer dann ein, wenn eine Person auf die Erreichung eines Zieles hin orientiert ist und auf diesem Weg einem Hindernis begegnet. Es besteht aus drei Hauptkomponenten, die den steuernden und korrigierenden Funktionen eines Lehrers, der Eltern oder eines Versuchsleiters entsprechen, und zwar aus Selbstbeobachtung, Selbstbewertung und Selbstbekräftigung oder Selbstkonsequenz. Wenn eine Person ihre Leistung mit ihren Leistungskriterien vergleicht, so führt dieser Vergleich entweder zur Zufriedenheit mit der Leistung oder aber zu Unzufriedenheit und daher zu korrigierendem Handeln oder zum Abbruch des Handelns.
