Constraints on General SU(2) L × SU(2) R × U(1) Electroweak Models from Nuclear Beta Decay

Weak and Electromagnetic Interactions in Nuclei

Abstract

The minimal standard model of the electroweak interactions is consistent with all available data. Nuclear B-decay experiments contribute to this conclusion through the absence of evidence for deviations from the V-A structure of the underlying charged-current quark-lepton interaction [1]. New contributions to the β-decay interaction are expected at some level in many extensions of the minimal standard model, motivated by the problems and the shortcomings of the latter.
