Segregation Analysis(HTCs)

Histocompatibility Testing 1984

Abstract

For the fourth time in conjunction with the International Histocompatibility Workshop the segregation of HLA-D determinants in families was investigated [1, 2, 3]. One hundred forty-five families were typed by the participating laboratories (see Appendix A) using the Workshop HTC set as described in the accompanying Cellular Part (HTC) and the data submitted to Essen. From these 145 families, 100 were selected for inclusion in the final Workshop set based on the following criteria:

  1. 1.

The family was tested with most of the Workshop homozygous typing cells(HTC), and the data were not deleted by the computer analysis [see Data Analysis section in accompanying Cellular Part (HTC)].

  2. 2.

No family member showed positive(score 6–8)typing responses to all the HTC.

  3. 3.

No family member showed negative(score 1–2)typing responses to all the HTC, except in families where either one parent had two blank haplotypes or both parents shared a blank haplotype.
