HLA Gene Polymorphism: Class II

  • Conference paper
Histocompatibility Testing 1984

Abstract

Restriction fragment length polymorphism was analyzed in 92 independent chromosomes. DNA samples from 23 families were digested with restriction enzymes, as specified below. Various restriction fragments showed variation in these families. Each fragment was assigned to the corresponding parental haplotype according to its segregation. Assignment of restriction fragments to haplotypes was almost complete (99% of haplotypes). Each fragment segregated with HLA, and band intensity suggests homozygosity (strong) or heterozygosity (weak) of haplotypes.
