Abstract

The HLA-D region of the human major histocompatibility complex (MHC) encodes for several sets of class II antigens involved in regulating immune responses. At least three distinct subregions have been distinguished (namely HLA-DR, DQ, DP) by a combination of serology, immunoprecipitation and cellular responses [1–3].
