Histocompatibility Testing 1984

Abstract

Since Ohno et al. reported a strong association of HLA-B5 with Behçet’s disease in 1973 [1], this observation has been confirmed in various ethnic groups [2, 3, 4]. After HLA-B5 was subdivided into two specificities, B51 and Bw52, B51 was shown to be increased in the patients [5].

The Italian investigation was supported in part by CNR “Pregetto finalizzato Ingegneria e Basi Molecolari delle Malattie Ereditarie” and by the Fondo Ministeriale per la Ricerca Scientifica (40□) 1981–82
