Abstract
It is not generally accepted that the pitch assessed to a residue signal is established by the separate pitch information of the individual components. Neither exists agreement with regard to the relation between the shift of residue pitch due to the presence of other (merely low-frequency) sounds on one hand and the pitch shifts of individual components, due to the same sound, on the other hand.
