Abstract
There are several naturally occurring heavenly phenomena which mankind is able to see and enjoy without the aid of anything more sophisticated than the eyes. The process of deduction from these observations, however, involves analyzing the information gathered by present, as well as past, observers and putting them into perspective. It is therefore not surprising that our views of these heavenly phenomena as well as of their causes have changed dramatically in the course of history.
