Zusammenfassung
Durch die Fortschritte der Intensivmedizin in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten wurde es möglich, daß ein größerer Prozentsatz von Patienten eine akute, lebensbedrohliche Situation überlebte oder nach einem klinischen Tod wiederbelebt werden konnte. Die Prognose dieser Patienten wird jedoch häufig durch Komplikationen während des Aufenthaltes auf der Intensivstation beeinträchtigt. Eine wichtige Gruppe solcher Komplikationen sind Infektionen, insbesondere bronchopulmonale Infektionen, bei Patienten, die langzeitbeatmet werden. In dieser Arbeit soll auf die endoskopischen Methoden zur Diagnostik solcher Infektionen eingegangen werden. Es wird ihre Indikation im Vergleich zu anderen invasiven diagnostischen Verfahren behandelt, die Technik dargestellt und auf die Komplikationen eingegangen.
