Abstract

The Club of Mainz and its first creation, this World Disaster Medicine Congress, both initiated by Rudolf Frey, in many years to come will be remembered as a unique force for reorienting priorities in acute medicine according to numerical relevance. We participants are greatly indebted to Rudolf Frey for his roles as initiator and host.
