Zusammenfassung

Insulin wird in den β-Zellen der Langerhansschen Inseln des Pankreas synthetisiert und gespeichert. Die Synthese verläuft über folgende Stufen: Die einkettige Vorstufe zum Proinsulin wird in den Ribosomen im endoplasmatischen Reticulum synthetisiert. Die Synthese beginnt mit dem N-terminalen Phenylalanin der B-Kette, setzt sich mit der B-Kette, dem Verknüpfungspeptid und der A-Kette fort, um mit dem C-terminalen Asparagin der A-Kette abzuschließen.
